Kurzbeschreibung des Experiments
Sustainability is not one-dimensional but encompasses three facets – the social, ecological, and economic dimension. These facets can be weighted differently depending on consumers’ preferences and motivations and can thus shape decision-making in different ways. Using a conjoint analysis, the research investigates preferences for sustainable products in the context of the fashion industry. The study assesses consumer responses to varying levels of ecological (e.g., carbon footprint) and social (price, ethical labor practices (wage, maximum working hours) and consumption (water, CO2)) sustainability attributes. The study addresses two main research questions. First, it examines consumers’ preferences for sustainable attributes in fashion products, with a particular focus on an exploratory analysis of different sustainability features in both the social and ecological dimensions. Second, the study investigates how environmental and prosocial motivations influence sustainable consumption decisions.
