Kurzbeschreibung des Experiments
This experiment investigates how independent and exogenous background risks affect cooperative behavior in climate change scenarios and individual and group trust dynamics in Artificial Intelligence (AI) systems like ChatGPT. The experiment will be conducted in the Laboratory for Experimental Economics at the University of Bonn (BonnEconLab) and Max Planck Institue Decision Lab in Bonn. It includes three parts: a threshold Public Goods Game (PGG), a Trust Game (TG), and a questionnaire. Participants will be randomly assigned to different control and treatment groups, and the order of the two games – PGG and TG – will be randomized. All decisions in the experiment will be monetarily incentivized, in addition to a show-up fee. The payoff will be provided directly at the end of each session in cash. The anonymity of participants is guaranteed during and after the experiment. The questionnaire includes questions on age, gender, study area, religion, political orientation, income level, Big Five personality traits, risk attitudes measured by incentivized lotteries, beliefs about climate change, AI literacy, self-assessed trust towards humans and ChatGPT, and experience and knowledge about ChatGPT.
